Thus far, these lapses of reason have proven mostly fruitful, and particularly in having discovered the meticulous perlustrations of Sacred Bones Records. Sacred Bones came to me during an especially feverish browsing session at Sound Cat Records in Pittsburgh, PA — and I bought my first disc (The Men, "Leave Home") because I was hypnotized by the swirling ouroboros logo, circumscribing a black triangle, letter-pressed onto the cover. Of course, I also bought Budos Band I (Daptone) on the same outing, just because the cover was a grainy old photo of an erupting volcano. Not quite as mystical, but totally worth it.
